SUMMER OPEN RESULTS

Below are the results from the Summer Open. A hotly contested event with one day of reasonable weather and one day of, well could have been a little better weather. Either way 36 holes of golf were played by 60 hearty members of the Men’s Club.

Right off the top on behalf of all the members and the Men’s Club Executive we would like to thank Mike Mets for donating a number of BC Ferry Gift passes to both the Men’s Club and Senior Men’s Club. Donations are always greatly appreciated and will be put to good use. Thanks very Much Mike

Well on to the event itself. The best shot of the tournament goes to Victor Omaye. Victor carded an Eagle 3 on hole #2 Sunday which translates into a Net 2. Some guys have all the fun.

White Tees

For the White Tees flight, two payers stood out. Glenn Tanaka and Rod Hughes.

Glenn was the Low Gross Champion from the White Tees and Rod was the Low Net Champion. Finishing 2nd and 3rd Low gross respectively were Barry Ennis and Dan Lafleur. 2nd and 3rd Low Net for the White tees went to Glenn Hara and Victor Omaye. That net 2 for Victor coming into play again.

Blue Tees

For the Blue Tees portion of the event, finishing 3rd Low Net was Ken Nishi by retrogression. 4th and 5th Low net went to Gary Sundvick and Michael Mets. 2nd Low Net for the Blues was Perry Nishihata and 1st Low Net goes to newcomer Phil Perry.

Phil battled Minto Roy the entire rainy day on Sunday for the coveted Low Gross title but lost out in retrogression. This is an anomaly, Minto never wins in retrogression. The earth gave us a little shimmy or a shake when that was announced. Both players finished with a gross score of 155 but the Sultan of Swing, the Master of Mayhem Minto Roy squeaked out the win by way of a better back nine. Congratulations to both Minto and Phil.

Steve Rice Jones held off a hard charging, always a threat Michae Uhm to finish 2nd Low Gross. Michael placing 3rd. While two more newcomers to the club Chayong KIm and PK Sharma finished 4th and 5th Low Gross respectively.

There were 16 KP prizes for the two day event. Each KP winner receives a sleeve of balls. The winners were, Rod Hughes(2), Cam Mclean, Harry Vivian, Sad Thiara, Dennis Thompson, Brad Urton, Steve Coppin, Minto Roy, Dan Lafleur, Gavin Copland, Gord Ennis, Mike Mets, PK Sharma, and Jordan Gould.

Draw Prize

Phil Perry was the recipient of a BC Ferries gift card for one car and driver and once again would like to say thank you Mike Mets.

For those who did not stay to claim their prizes, check in the pro shop Wednesday afternoon they will be there.

Anyway it’s that time again. Keep Safe Stay Healthy see you all at the next event.
