Eric Rastad

RASTAD Eric Arthur With great sadness we announce the passing of Eric at the age of 67 years on the afternoon of July 31, 2009 at St. Michael’s Centre in Burnaby, BC. He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Eric was born on December 3, 1941 in Vancouver, BC and was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Jean Rastad. Eric will be dearly missed by his loving wife Judy, sons David (Lisa), Craig (Tammy), Shawn (Cheryl), daughter Lorrie (Shane), grandchildren (Michael, Justin, Melissa, Tayla, Brayden, Trey, Brielle, Colby and Amanda), sister Carol (Les), and many other relatives and friends. Eric graduated from King Edward High School in 1959 and joined his father in the sheet metal business for many years. During this time he also managed a related fibreglass company. In his youth he enjoyed hot rods, hiking, skiing, and loved to go dancing. Eric and Judy were married on January 26, 1963 and would eventually settle in Port Moody where they raised their four children. Eric and his father started another business of building and renting warehouses, which he continued to expand upon. Eric balanced his passion for work with a similar enjoyment in golfing and was a member at Meadows Gardens Golf Club. He also valued the tranquillity and time spent at their waterfront retreats in the Cariboo. Never one to be resting for too long, Eric expanded his business interests into 100 Mile House. Eric was an exceptional problem solver with an incredible memory. Everything Eric undertook he did with conviction.
